hello im feeling really emo now!

this morning i woke up missing band! haha even though we have been playing for the whole week and yesterday had performance at changi naval base open house! i think it was the ride on the shipcraft that made it so enjoyable and the whole event so miss-able!
haha today went shopping for lit trip. leaving on tuesday (night!!)

i think the weather there is going to make things more melancholy. rather unpredictable, with chills even though the sun's going to be out.

then i went for organ class. was supposed to go home to start packing. but really missed them! just at the right time, eric called to ask people to go out! haha so i met them at parkway! after they pooled, we played at the arcade! haha havent been at an arcade for superrr long. left at 7 plus to eat dinner at home:) im going to miss mummy's food!
then i realised i had less than a few hours to finish my lit task on the lit blog for Miss chia. So i started, then the KOREA people called me to bid farewell. haha sweet things they are- all lined up there to talk to me! heh im going to miss you all! have a great time in KOREA! i will enjoy UK and Paris too!=D
then sidney called me to arrange the keys thing. then reality set in on how im going to miss band pracs, JTS chalet!!! (arrrghh!) and the dsa auditions thing. oh no! ok. i sound like im leaving VJ. haha but no ill only be away for 8 days! hahah ok but jefri cheered me up! yay gonna treat me to ice cream (im trying to up it to a sakae buffet!) haha but thats only IF i manage to help him sell acjc tix! heh!=D
thanks jiawei for coming to collect the keys from me on tuesday! grateful!-_-and pinrui im so not treating you to the thing! dont try to melt my heart eh!=D

=D

today is nearly the best day ive ever had since a long time.
everyone's just so funny today and im thoroughly amused.

the day started off with a bang- with rain. i took a very brave stance by going to school myself even though it was raining heavily with strong wind - still having my ankles wrapped and wearing sandals. along the way, it was very hilarious because my flimsy umbrella kept flipping inside out due to the strong wind. and so, i kept turning around so that the wind in the opposite direction would push the umbrella back to the right side- a totally cheap way of getting the umbrella fixed. the st. pats guy behind me kept sniggering because he would use his hands manually to turn it inside out but since i had my hands full and quite desperate not to sprain my ankle again in any sudden violent movements, i did what i did instead. and so he kept laughing because he kept seeing this girl in front of him turn back and forth to "repair"her umbrella. heheh well the only consolation i got was that what i did WAS an effective method. haha.

met alex on the bus and i managed to subtly remind him about STJ. hope its going to be at that nice Bugis Shophouse place! got down the bus and met jinghan and jiawei stranded at the bus stop. since jinghan's umbrella was really small, i shared mine with jiawei. along the way, jinghan turned around and suddenly shouted "ka shiong!" haha so jiawei and I spun arnd and saw poor boy running all the way in under the heavy rain! so jinghan shared his painfully small umbrella with him. hehe and i only found out during math tutorial just now what both of them were talking about throughout the journey- totally hilarious! once we reached school, i saw darryl and so both jiawei and I wished him happy belated birthday which was apparently even heard by jinghan and ka shiong who were miles ahead of us. oh well. i think my voice gets really loud when im excited. hehe. anyway the whole thing was really fun!

after math tutorial leow and I went to sleep in the library and we got hit by the friendly librarian - again! its really not fair because the people next to us dont undergo that fate! anyway after school i went to talk to vera at the softball table till 4 plus. we had a very stimulating talk and i think her friend justine thinks im mad too because he gave me a really shocked look when i exclaimed something quite loudly accidentally. haha. well after that i was quite high so band bombing went OK. could have done better but i think that was not too bad (i hope!) i really felt like shooting matthew but after my bombing session he redeemed himself so yea. thank you Phyllinda for trying to save me! you rock! haha oh yes and after that had quite a long talk with Mervin- found out that he knows many many people like Mr Yap, Ms Ng, Joice, Shin Yee and Weiting. had dinner with beatrice and jess and it was the funnest dinner in a longgg time. i guess the SYF stress is just over thats why.:) hugs!

thats how my day went, very interestingly.
im currently listening to ac's safari sent by jefri. thanks loads! its amazing listening to the exact same piece we performed but quite a different interpretation!
and chengfu is sending me ac's choice piece and both of sa's. thanks thanks thanks!:)

well even so, i feel kinda -_- because im not at choir concert now, not going for the movie treat Picture House tmr, going only for half of tennis match support tmr, missing the law talk in school, not going for guitar concert and not going for CLIC camp and C.I.C building thing because of lit trip. rawr.

Results

omgosh we got Gold With Honours!

an unspoken dream fulfilled!

Vj band and conductor Mr Tan never ever voiced out our desire for this SYF, all we knew was that our band had LOTS of potential which we wanted to showcase yesterday. And we did!

Thank God for a large group of faithful Christians in Band who came together in prayer and this gave me much peace and calm. Like what jessica said, yesterday was our first SYF we didnt feel that nervous over, praise the Lord. I could actually keep my mind and memory intact. even though the judges were in full view and there many recognisable seniors and friends in the audience, calm helped me keep my head on my shoulders and managed to do all my parts satisfactorily. I successfully completed part Y too, one part which i never ever had been able to do 100%! im also so proud of the horn and flute and timpani soloists:)) at the end of the performance, i gave the widest smile to the audience ever- my last time on that stage man!

then we took the chartered bus back to school and percussionists went out for lunch at the pizza place at city hall before going back to Singapore Conference Hall for the results. while waiting i went school hopping and met up with many many friends - jasmine chiam, vanessa, jessalynn, jasmine ngu, timothy, jefri, samuel, michelle, louis, chengfu, melvin, faeliq, jiffsen and sweelin:)) the results were given in extreme tense competition - as only 30 band members from each band could enter the hall to receive the results first hand, most of the J2s were given that chance. Hence most of us sat downstairs and made calls to those inside and put them on loudspeakers. For us, it was a rollercoaster, being the first band to receive this award, it went like this "Band No. 9 - Victoria Junior College, GOLD...(silence which seemed like eternity).... with Honours!" I swear all of us went madd. jumping and freaking out girls and the boys who went crazy too. i think its more emotional to see boys crying than girls because girls do it all the time. then people started hugging like crazy, inter-school as well, it was double joy for me as well because best-friend-band ACJC got honours as well! hugged the people there and all of us were celebrating like there was no end.:) our band did almost all the cheers ever and sang the victorian anthem twice!
the EXCO treated all of us to Ben and Jerry's at Suntec! and 17 of us J1s headed to Marina Square to watch Spiderman 3! and it was at that fateful theatre where I sprained my ankle! its really bad now but i really dont want to go to the sinseh to crack it back. hope it heals in time for Majestia!

anyway, im really proud of us for getting Gold with Honours and being top 3 bands along ACJC and SAJC.:) 3 cheers for VJCSB!:))

End of Central Judging of Concert Bands (Junior Colleges)

Cant believe this is happening. Its so surreal.
For almost all of us, except for the IP kids, its going to be our LAST SYF. my FIFTH and last SYF. the last chance to perform under such a tense atmosphere. strangely, i dont ever want it to come, not because we arent prepared, but because I dont want this phase of my life to pass just yet. SYFs are fun and the experience is amazing. Even now, i can still remember the exact feelings i felt 2 years ago, when SCGS Band won a long-awaited Gold medal. no words could express our heartfelt gratitude to the judges and our pride made our heads swell. even though Catholic High was next to us and was awarded a Gold with Honours, our platforms of expectations for ourselves were alike and both schools burst into screams (or growls of macho-ness for the cat high guys)

whats even more amazing is that now i have all those PRO people in VJ band with me! with the cat high guys, with the dunman high people, with victoria school people - all these people made legacies with their previous schools, and now its OUR TURN. Its true that medals are worth nought when it comes to this stage, because 10 minutes is definitely NOT an accurate telling of the band. even so, medals live long, long enough to inspire batches in future- thats why people strive to earn medals. even so, memories live longer, and forever. therefore this SYF is definitely going to be a cornerstone of my life and a favourite memory :)

my goosebumps are standing and many many band-ish thoughts are running through my mind. as time does not permit my elaboration of these, i have decided to conclude :

1) A BIG THANK YOU TO friends and all band supporters for greeting me with encouragements and sincerely sending your well wishes, as a token of my appreciation, i have remembered ALL OF YOU (hopefully:)
hwee, anthea, jinghan, mark, jason, daniel, edo, darren, phoebe, annabelle, shan, jaclyn

2) congrats to VJCO for attaining a Gold in today's SYF!:))))

3) A BIG THANK YOU to teachers, seniors and alumni. you all deserve somethingreally special and i shall get down to it soon:))

4) last but not least, THANK GOD for sustaining all of us through these past few months of practices and ups and downs in band life, thank you for blessing us with beautiful memories and for blessing me with amazing seniors and friends:) Christa, Koushing, Sidney and Tim, you guys are the giants whose shoulders we will walk on. :)

all the best tomorrow VJ Spartan warriors, lets bring WAR and groove to Singapore Conference Hall!

yayness

yayness. :) even though i have been having really late nights and early mornings, school is still really funn and outside of that as well.

we have been band-ing till 8 plus everyday except yesterday because it was compulsory rest. even though i spent the night doing GPP (PW), im quite satisfied because now I finally know the true contributions of Paul Rusesabagina. He is indeed a groundbreaker and Im glad our group didnt change him. His hero is Nelson Mandela by the way! which is really cool because it links to my PI, which i did on Nelson Mandela. today band ended at 9 plus, polishing up stuff - when tmr comes (in half in hour), SYF will be 'tomorrow'. i cant believe it. my last SYF ever. after band percussion gathered to finally savour the cake we have been bringing in an dout of fridges to celebrate tim and sidney's birthdays. haha and after that what else but a cake fight!

oh yes and my blazer is still missing :(( where could you have gone to, please come out soon!

and ive finally caught up with you again. yayness. :)
hehe oh yes had a nice catch up with matthew, becky, and jo:) yay. i really love friends.
becky finally remembers my birthday! haha! :))
cant wait for the june hols..and camp and lit trip! arr!:))))

transformation of graphs

hello world.=D
im currently filling my ears with music, so that i can finish my math assignment.
yes, im finally doing it! they told us to drop work, but im going to see how well my juggling skills are in these 2 weeks. Conran said these 2 weeks are gonna test what we are made of. and yes, all the way! i havent really been proving myself worthy though, having dozed off in econs and slept through half of lit (for the first time this year ok!) besides econs, everythings still fine thankfully!

these few days have been pretty exciting because i cut my hair! yes actually all the lady did was thin it, but surprising it looks pretty different. like more "tapered" and neater. People's reactions are what makes it even more interesting. the girls say its better, some boys say its better, some scold me for cutting it. haha really quite amazing what consequences it brought about.

anyway these few days i really love the company of the band people because they are so ultra funny they can make an object laugh i tell you. SYF is in 8 days, and we are nearing our aim. Like Darren said, its good we havent peaked yet and hopefully not till like 2 days before SYF or even on SYF itself. that would be really good. and hwee and vera and jac and annabelle and ALL my classmates are so funny too! they really make school so cool!

anyway vera Im still caught in a dilemma! I just CANT make up my mind you know! haha oh yes and we totally missed out gorilla, archie and michael jackson! hehe!
