semi-topsy turvy

oh no, things arent going so fine for now.
work's definitely piling, and the change is that - that doesnt really matter so much to me anymore. by the time i reach home everyday, my brain feels SO tired, i end up sleeping so early. my earliest as yet : 8.45pm. which busy person sleeps for 10 hours and wakes up still fretting about not having enough time! furthermore, i dont even hear the alarm in the morning to wake me up earlier to do SOME work. there's no excuse, its just me. im so totally unmotivated and lazy in any other aspects besides band for now, i think there's a bigg bigg problem with me. i couldnt even make it in time for prayer session on wednesday. dangg.

and YOU! im so so so sorry I've been neglecting you so much this past week and even since 2 weeks ago. im so sorry. i guess nothing really gives me the excuse to push you into the corner just like that, to ignore you when you try to find out whats wrong, and just throw you away when things aren't fine and dandy. I just hope you know me well enough, to stay the way you are, and patiently wait for me. I'll be back SOON. i promise :)

yesterday's exchange at hwachong was an utter disaster. I swear I wanted to kill myself by the end of it. when we stood up to take a bow at the end of it, i caught dafril's eye and it was that kind of thank-goodness-its-not-the-syf look. gosh. i think this was a wake up call to make sure we all wouldnt screw up as such on the 11th of May. after I executed that air-choke during Safari, i seriously wanted to shoot myself in the head. I was so utterly disappointed! well, ill take revenge on that air-choke soon enough.!

blogging in peace.

ants and I looking real excited:))

i can finally blog in peace! or at least temporial peace- loads of work waiting for me!

ohwell. i shall just get it ALL off noww. i havent been blogging properly for at least a week and there are sooo many things i want to say!

firstly, we had half day last week! because wushu and cross country got champions! yay! our class went to makan at cafe cartel and the girls did quite alot of shopping:))
on that same day I talked to nigel quite abit again and boy do i miss that quirky guy haha. its amazing how we were friends since so long ago, and even if we havent talked in AGES (because dear friend is really busy pursuing his dreams on the track), we can still talk and laugh about everything and anything! He and jefri seriously top my short-term memory friend list though- nigel still cant rmb if i was from st. margs pri and sc sec or sc pri and st.margs sec. HAHA. and jefri is worse off really. he repeats the exact same conversations because he cant rmb if he has asked me or told me all those stuff before. oh my! suddenly i really miss my december holiday friends. i miss zumei, melvin, liangjie, val, jef, huiting vanessa and all. those are the friends that you just want to hang out with and be all goofy and all without having serious consequences. they dont judge you, they love you for who you are and they accept all your flaws. like it or not, school mates cant really do that all the time. its just the way it is when you hang out alot or even too much with the same group of people.

I also had an econs study thingy with beatrice and eric in school on monday! we studied for econs for 2 hours ok! not bad eh! haha the whole thing was just hilarious because eric and bea were so super funnyyy. =D then i had band on tues, wed and thurs:) now with all the perf arts getting gold and honours, we are also pressured to do really well. no fear guys, chins up! honours! :) and yay, the j1 ensemble got in! hurrah so did sidney and matt who are absolutely pro on the mallets. eh come on, its usually girls who are better at mallets and boys who are better at drums, but my section guys are seriously super all-rounders! it rocks how matt tim and I had the same percussion coach Ms Ng previously. haah sometimes they remind me what she used to teach as well. thanks!

during math tutorial yesteday, vera and i were getting really bored and she asked me a certain question. at that time, i was really sure when i answered it, but on second thoughts, i really dont know. history just takes a toll on me and i dont think im capable of going further than that right now. i just hope it doesnt ruin anything. perhaps ill give you a more convincing answer in time to come yea?

anyway, jefri is really tired out from ac syf prep and pw too and I totally share the same sentiments. in the meantime, vjcsb is having an exchange tmr with hwa chong raffles cj and tj at hc. all the best everyone!:)

i really dont wish i have to say this, but i really miss ac. haha. not that i dont love vj!:)) (and please dont think so much about this, thanks) haha.

band!

omgosh, band is totally running through my veins .. all those notes i have memorised and those 7 accents people have to hear even from a mile away are totally obsessing me!

today band was good. even though it was just individual sectionals and 1-1 with senior Christa/ Koushing/ Tim, it was really one of those days when you find yourself congratulating yourself on having made that decision. For me, some months ago, it was telling the VJ person that I was accepting the successful appeal and rejecting AC's posting. just some weeks ago, its for me choosing band over council. that really was a tough thing to do and it was choice no one could influence but me myself and I.
There was one funny point of time, when Eric, Jessica and Beatrice were standing in front of me because I presented them with a challenge: to count how many accents i had in the phrase I was playing, without knowing my score. haha lame as it sounds, but it works! eric said 6, beatrice said 8 and jess said 7. well. the correct answer was 7, but i cant have it so imperfect and vague, when VJ band is heading for Gold with Honours in 19 days time, can I! yes, IM TOTALLY MOTIVATED TO PRACTISE MORE. MORE! Eric says he pracs a few hours EVERYDAY excluding band pracs (which are sufficient to kill). he says Kasiong does even more than him. woah. energy batteries!

today someone was briefly mentioning how she has never ever found something she was really passionate in. I started thinking about myself, and i found the answer almost immediately: music and God. Both never seem to fail me and amaze me in everything. As many of you have asked me and wondered why I love Band, or why people love "sitting there playing some kind of music that only a handful can really find the andrenaline from and enjoy it like a rock concert", this is usually the only question I find myself speechless, because plainly, the answer is not as easy as it seems. I love band because I was thrown into it since I was 8, I love band because i made almost ALL my best friends there, whether from SMPS or SCGS or VJ or NCO. I love band because I learn SO much from seniors there- role models in so many ways! I love band because it is my third home. I love band because of the music, which touches all of us in different ways yet in a similar fashion. I love band because it has reduced me to nothingness before, to tears as well as to a pure state of euphoria. I love band because of the memories! I love band.:)

You there, do you LOVE what you are doing? If not its time to change the melody, and switch onto a new tune...!

anyway, today was really eventful. Marcus popped by VJ to visit us : Chiawen and Josh too:) haha i was super freaked out because the first time he came in, Mr X interrogated him upside down (from outside the ODAC room) and asked him to leave. (!!) at first I thought marcus was talking to a friend so i walked out and stood next to him and looked up and lo and behold it was Mr. X i was totally freaked out but marcus calmly walked out to the security post, asked for a visitor's pass, and came in again. lol. seriously, something has to be done about the system- not working i say! we chatted (with josh) for awhile and MC joined us after her 3rd period PE.. I had to leave at 4 for band but chia wen came back after that and left with him for floorball. Mr Y was totally staring at his hair but thankfully he didnt come over.. oh man. tomorrow there is PE again and I hope Mr. X doesnt ask me any questions. i shall try chill for now! marcus never fails to amaze me with his calm-headedness and faith in everything. YOU were a blessing to all of us today too!:))

after band, beatrice xinhui sidney and i headed to Thaipan, there we had a really interesting convo and we left about close to 9?!!at the bus stop sidney was getting so funny he was telling xinhui and I not to go home but to go drink coffee at siglap with him. like hello? haha he is so super smart and freeee unlike us poor chaps who need to finish our PIs. sighh haha maybe next time yea? oh yes, and Mr Harris saw me too! hah!

Well, there's band again tmr. looking forward to it. see you all soon!:)

sounds of the week

my ears!
they have been exposed to great music of all time this week, fantastic!

first-up was the very top secret event held on the middle of this week - my I simply could not contain my nerves as SCband was competing on stage. ask chara and eunice, my hands were tightly clasped and I was on-the-edge for them! I was absolutely relieved and grateful enough- SC got silver! even though its a drop from 2 years ago, but its still really amazing how they built everything from scratch in a matter of a few months and emerged victors in their own fields:) well done!=D=D I was so happy also being able to meet up with 2 of my band besties! eunice and chara!:) hugs hugs=D

next, MUSICfest 2007!- which i have just arrived home from!

I was SO happy when i managed to get a ticket legally - without purchasing from the black market or finding ways to sneak into PT.

hurrah, thanks jinghan for giving it to me!=D im taking this opportunity while im still in the thick of the mood to blog about it before the memory flies away in my dreams.

MY, were the dancers good! well done Phoebe, Lorraine, Audrey, Jinghan, Laura, Wei An and SC seniors! well done to the vocalists, MTV contestants as well as the bands! 6 sig. fig!

Zach's band (Intoxicated Waltz, is that it?)! AND the camels!:) woohoo! it was an interesting night- with many random MTVS and a very livening atmosphere with daniel/matthew's band standing right behind where I was while waiting for their turn to rock VJ! yea!

yup, even though the flowers I gave you guys will eventually wither and die, penning (blogging) it immortalises them. yay=D

me, mc and lois:)
mc and lois on our way back to school for musicfest:)

highlight of the week:

making a new friend - Lois (MC's TK friend) yayness=D

PICTURESque!

hello!! ive finally found the time to blogg! im so happy.:)) i guess storing memories (nice or unpleasant ones) somewhere mean alot to me especially when days buzz by just with a *snap* of our fingers - i wont want to sit here on the 31st of December 2007 forgetting what on earth ive actually done throughout the whole precious year. Now that time is so tight for everyone too, I think remembering small things like shopping trips and lunches with close friends and loved ones are even more worth keeping safe somewhere. here it is, my memory haven!=D

Im also ecstatic because ive finally uploaded all my pictures from my phone onto the com.. i seem to think that my phone takes even better quality photos than my camera! Here are some photos for you to view, and for me to look back upon whenever..

this was taken years ago when i went back to AC to handle my appeal stuff - had lunch with weiting, 2 of her friends and dominic. :)) thanks guys!=D

During Arts Day last week *ice cream man and cookie/ muffin store! refer to my previous post for more details on it...

annabelle and anthea striking their all- time favourite poses:)

how cool is A13?!:) this was taken while we were walking to subway at East Coast.

annabelle and I at Subway. we shared a subway melt:) yum. even more yummy sharing it with leow:)

random photos during classes..

one lazy cheerleader. heh.

and.. SPORTS DAY! which took place on friday!

they say green looks the best on our house shirts... and I think so too!:)) well done LYNX! 1st in Cheerleading!:)))))

after Sports Day, i totally chionged down to town with anthea to meet mummy:) mother-daughter bonding, Jing Han says. haha sorry i couldnt join you guys for movie!:) i headed to the library to borrow a novel by Thomas Hardy first then met Mum at Paragon. We walked and shopped and my mum wanted me to get a crumpler bag which I refused. This decision was backed by annabelle. not worth it, we say!:) I bought a new pair of Aasics shoes though(finally!)
then we headed for dinner at Cream Bistro - nice pasta! did more shopping at Pacific Plaza then headed to mum's all time fave That CD Shop. :) Here's mum smiling even though i caught her unaware...
me and my reflection again:))

i love music!:)
saturday was just more Band Prac. I also had to chiong home to finish all my homework so that I could go out on Sunday:))

Sunday evening! ACJC Muse - A night of fantabulous company, excellent music and good old memories flooding back:)

reflections of jess, beatrice, xinhui and I at Esplanade.:)
the only person i can recognise from the front cover of the Muse booklet is fellow percussionist wenlong! great job! jess and I:)

Amazing organist up there during Phantom of the Opera!
Im so so proud of chara! how many solos did she do! and weiting! I bought flowers for kristen, timothy, pat, weiting, chara and melvin too:)) Even though I only reached home close to 12 and had a headache for almost the whole of today, last night was really time worth spending:)) thanks percs for such great company!:))

as i was telling mummy, its hard to imagine how I could have been up this path as well, performing for so many out there at the Esplanade, if it wasnt for the complications of JAE or PAE!

But whatever it is.. La Viva Victoria!!

yes, and one final thing which I have to say yet again: God is indeed good, all the time!:) Shine for Him people!:)
