twists and turns

I think I have mentioned before how its funny things eventually turn out. Proves the futility of pining and whining, put it in Higher Hands and things will be fine...

I have been in such a whirl of things to do, especially since Benedict has been ill! Please get well soon! if not it'll be my turn soon i think..! It has been waking up for school much earlier then before so i can finish some homework in the morning, then school and lessons, band or exco stuff, then simultaneously purchasing things from parkway and eating dinner and discussing stuff. by the time i reach home, im red and flustered and my legs can kill. before doing the absolutely necessary homework plus liasing with my committee online its back to wonderful horizontal meditation. haha.

Well i guess i can be content with the wonderful weekend we had and dinner on Monday and the humongous treat yesterday. Urban Hike was a blast and even though i probably threw my face numerous times, it was very good bonding with the year 1s. I was the only year 2 in my group but surprisingly i felt i was actually one of them sometimes! proves how i still cant believe im turning 18 soon. haha. dinner on monday with daniel char and bindi at treats was funny because they forced me to share this duck rice set with them, only to know they were going to sabo me to eat the whole plate of salted vegetables (which tasted really weird) they previously tried and hated. we played zhou ji mi ma till late and i think we left before the stall aunty was going to kill us for sporadic outbursts (aiyo xia si ren ah!)lol.
Its Friday (thank you!), im in the its-the-weekend-can-you-let-me-go-now mood!

My dad got me a laptop and im currently plugging on to music, typing and messaging and email. technology is getting to me, and i feel so snazzy! :)

Have a great month, see you all soon!

Our lifetime ambitions:)

Sorry for the late entry, haha but Good job for PW everyone! :) this was taken after OP remember!:))
Anyway,
What happens if jac, vera, hwee, brown mouse, mc, abc anthea and I write a magazine next time? just thinking of it is quite fun and i cant stop laughing already, i think it will be very entertaining. Reflections on school life and life since we love to talk about it - from 8 different perspectives. And since all of us have our own unique styles of writing, it will be so interesting. Maybe next time it will be subscribed by our target audience on a monthly basis! Today during tuition was hilarious because Anthea suggested we can simplify our World History and Southeast Asian studies and other things we learn into interesting bitesize people for teens. :) Since we believe that what we are learning -Israeli conflict, Cold War, plus search for political democracies etc etc is pretty interesting just very heavy! it will be an education tabloid magazine, probably with sports (hockey, tennis, softball, swimming) and performing tips too! not forgetting useful backpacking and bouldering tips by jac ! hahaha. useful for getting everyone through school :) i just realised our livejournal accounts can be started using as a store for these memories already!

the more i talk about it, the more feasible it seems!

Capital anyone?:)

P.S: All the best girls for season! Veejay......Power Power Power!

dinner conversation

This is how part of my dinner conversation with my dad went last night :

Dad: Where do you think luyi (sister) is now ?
Me: Hmmm, probably somewhere in Spain ?
Dad: Yea, maybe Barcelona.

My sister is so caught up with backpacking and travelling, I think she previously said its hard for her to contact us when she's constantly on the move because she cant use her laptop and something something something about phoning. haha.

Although she still messages me at random times, but i cant reply because smses dont reach her at whichever part of the world. haha. oh well, we all know she can take very good care of herself.

But still, I miss her nonsense at home!

Weird people

People these days are getting more and more interesting by the minute.
I thought there were some weird people in Primary School, quite a few weird people in Secondary School but surprisingly i didnt really expect this, but there are a whole load of weird people now. I was just asking two of my friends today if I was the weird one in the end, since I kept thinking that of others. Like maybe im the strange one who those people cant really understand and like how I find ways to accomodate them, they have also found ways to do so with me, and have probably already accepted the fact a long time ago. the thought's scary! if this is really so, i think the 7 wonderful girls will be my company though. hee:) My sister has been backpacking all over Europe. Morocco, Prague, Vienna, Germany, Paris, London you name it she's done it and she was sharing with me things people do she just cant comprehend. She told me to get used to the multifarious nature of people now before i enter the world of.. big "diversity".

One of our ______ lashed out at us some days ago. Ok pretend you dont know my school nor my class nor anything you shouldn't. He/She scolded us for being "willful disagreeing" people who simply refuse to score well. I was actually quite comforted at the fact that she saw that amount of potential in us. I just wonder what's stopping us from exhibiting that. Really.

Some people also say the weirdest things at the weirdest times. They say it and you can hear the birds chirping from a mile away suddenly because the atmosphere's so quiet and awkward. I think another weird thing of some people is how they like to make others feel bad. I think that can probably be one of the meanest things to do! A few months down the road and im still feeling that im being made to feel bad about it! You evil bunch of people! :( I have to stop avoiding what I have been and face up to the reality as i knew it before the episode. Remind me not to suddenly turn around and turn a corner next time will you? I just wish college wasnt so small and cosy sometimes. it will make living quite a bit easier! Ill grind my teeth and deal with it, tomorrow!

Maybe next time I can write a book on "dealing with weird people and responding in foolproof ways".
Well i guess im still learning.

Singapore

Im back in Sunny Singapore!

The trip to New York was a very fulfilling and fruitful one. Before i left, i made it a point to jot down the things i needed to get done by the time i came back to our familiar shores. Of course with prayers over them, I wasn't disappointed, and I got more.

I think people in school who have been asking me how the trip was haven't really been getting satisfactory answers. I always feel speechless upon replying and i cant seem to squeeze everything into just a few sentences.

Lets progress up the chart. Physically, my health took a downturn, and the effects are draining me pretty badly now. The weather was slightly too bone-chilling for me although i was always wearing 4 layers on top and 3 layers bottom. When the wind was blowing in our faces, no one could talk and we all just earnestly prayed in our hearts the wind would stop. For once we turned up our hotel aircons to 27 degrees and we never felt hot. My cough does not seem to be getting better (the opposite in fact) and the jetlag has been making me sleep till the next morning the moment i reach home... making my pile of homework increase exponentially...

Spiritually, everything was just so lifting during the trip. The weather couldn't get us down, because I personally enjoyed every nitty gritty event, every lunch, dinner and breakfast. Firstly i was nearly eating with all the different groups of people for every meal due to our large numbers and diversity:) Bonding with juniors and fellow batch mates was remarkable and I learnt alot about many people. Every photo taken was truly representative of how we were feeling and thats what i really love. I also realised that if i didnt feel like taking a photo i wouldnt even be in it (like ill run away or something) so you can trust me on that.:) I said i got more because of the Christian fellowships we had at night:) We prayed and sung about everything and Easter celebrations made it even more purposeful and rejuvenating. Claiming glory in Carnegie Hall was so much more of glory for Him then anything else:)

New York is also a very beautiful place, cosmopolitan and diverse in many aspects. Fast pace like in Singapore but different in many ways. My favourite events in New York was the Hudson River Cruise, Tour to Ellis Island, and performing in Central Park! Ill let the limited photos do the rest of the talking!

Central Park

Post Carnegie Performance and Day Tour

Sightseeing and food:)

I didnt really organise the photos, sorry! There are also alot of photos missing like those with the Statue of Liberty. Ill add in next time:)

Even though the trip was short and not really sufficient to visit every iconic part of The Big Apple, it was sufficient to get want I hoped for. It was a good treat returning learning about CT results too. Even though it wasnt fantastic but our whole class made such vast improvement and our potential's finally starting to show:) Things are going to be as busy with the numerous concerts coming up, catching up with work and gearing up for Majestia XXIV(!!)

Had a good day yesterday catching up with class girls at our dear Parkway and then Ichiban Moshi for dinner with section girls (finally beatrice is back to join us, we've missed you!) Sushi has never tasted that good then it was just drifting along Citilink with McFlurry icecream. Life's good :)

Cheers to more good days to come, :)
