band!

omgosh, band is totally running through my veins .. all those notes i have memorised and those 7 accents people have to hear even from a mile away are totally obsessing me!

today band was good. even though it was just individual sectionals and 1-1 with senior Christa/ Koushing/ Tim, it was really one of those days when you find yourself congratulating yourself on having made that decision. For me, some months ago, it was telling the VJ person that I was accepting the successful appeal and rejecting AC's posting. just some weeks ago, its for me choosing band over council. that really was a tough thing to do and it was choice no one could influence but me myself and I.
There was one funny point of time, when Eric, Jessica and Beatrice were standing in front of me because I presented them with a challenge: to count how many accents i had in the phrase I was playing, without knowing my score. haha lame as it sounds, but it works! eric said 6, beatrice said 8 and jess said 7. well. the correct answer was 7, but i cant have it so imperfect and vague, when VJ band is heading for Gold with Honours in 19 days time, can I! yes, IM TOTALLY MOTIVATED TO PRACTISE MORE. MORE! Eric says he pracs a few hours EVERYDAY excluding band pracs (which are sufficient to kill). he says Kasiong does even more than him. woah. energy batteries!

today someone was briefly mentioning how she has never ever found something she was really passionate in. I started thinking about myself, and i found the answer almost immediately: music and God. Both never seem to fail me and amaze me in everything. As many of you have asked me and wondered why I love Band, or why people love "sitting there playing some kind of music that only a handful can really find the andrenaline from and enjoy it like a rock concert", this is usually the only question I find myself speechless, because plainly, the answer is not as easy as it seems. I love band because I was thrown into it since I was 8, I love band because i made almost ALL my best friends there, whether from SMPS or SCGS or VJ or NCO. I love band because I learn SO much from seniors there- role models in so many ways! I love band because it is my third home. I love band because of the music, which touches all of us in different ways yet in a similar fashion. I love band because it has reduced me to nothingness before, to tears as well as to a pure state of euphoria. I love band because of the memories! I love band.:)

You there, do you LOVE what you are doing? If not its time to change the melody, and switch onto a new tune...!

anyway, today was really eventful. Marcus popped by VJ to visit us : Chiawen and Josh too:) haha i was super freaked out because the first time he came in, Mr X interrogated him upside down (from outside the ODAC room) and asked him to leave. (!!) at first I thought marcus was talking to a friend so i walked out and stood next to him and looked up and lo and behold it was Mr. X i was totally freaked out but marcus calmly walked out to the security post, asked for a visitor's pass, and came in again. lol. seriously, something has to be done about the system- not working i say! we chatted (with josh) for awhile and MC joined us after her 3rd period PE.. I had to leave at 4 for band but chia wen came back after that and left with him for floorball. Mr Y was totally staring at his hair but thankfully he didnt come over.. oh man. tomorrow there is PE again and I hope Mr. X doesnt ask me any questions. i shall try chill for now! marcus never fails to amaze me with his calm-headedness and faith in everything. YOU were a blessing to all of us today too!:))

after band, beatrice xinhui sidney and i headed to Thaipan, there we had a really interesting convo and we left about close to 9?!!at the bus stop sidney was getting so funny he was telling xinhui and I not to go home but to go drink coffee at siglap with him. like hello? haha he is so super smart and freeee unlike us poor chaps who need to finish our PIs. sighh haha maybe next time yea? oh yes, and Mr Harris saw me too! hah!

Well, there's band again tmr. looking forward to it. see you all soon!:)
