Bittersweet
Some photos from CNY and my Grandparent's birthday celebration last week.
***
My Grandpa had a bad fall yesterday morning.
thank God for my cousin who found him not long after and called for the ambulance. He's now in coma and doesn't seem too strong. My sister was flipping through the report the nurse accidentally left in the ward, and only the "Encourage family members to spend more time" box was checked, amidst other slightly more positive ones.
I rushed down to TTSH after Abc's surprise celebration - (thankew vera for allowing me to pang-sei you, you're the best;).
I guess i managed to appreciate the celebration of Valentine's Day much more after that, for seeing my Grandma trying to wake unconscious Yeye out of his sleep was heartbreaking.
For that, i can safely say Valentine's is not overrated neither is it cheesy. I think its almost necessary in such a society where people are not into the culture of expressing their love outrightly to one another. You wouldnt want to regret not doing anything you can with a loved one, when its too late. After all, whats queuing for hours just to get a dinner place; whats squeezing just to walk on a platform; whats getting swept around by the millions of people, when you're with your loved one?
Thank you amazing people who sent me v'day love through snail mail, loved ones who spent v'day with me, and to everyone who's taught me to be affectionate:)
Most of all, please wake up soon Yeye, We're behind you.
