To my Grandpa

My grandfather was one of good character and resilience.
I remember my mum telling me how she and my dad once quarreled really badly ( when i hadn't existed yet) and my mum actually moved out for a few days and my grandfather actually helped her to move out, although my dad was his son!
I remember how he would try to speak to all his grandchildren at gatherings, by speaking English, of which he knew little of.
I remember how he carried 10 big boxes of oranges from the coffee shop near his house up his block of flats, for his 10 sons and daughters and their families for Chinese New Year this year, although he was already 89 years and had to rely on clutches to walk. He must have taken hours to complete the task.

Im thankful my whole entire family was together with me during this whole week of mourning and preparation for his cremation.
Im thankful for friends who've shown so much concern - the many smses and visit from the girls:)

My grandfather told one of us he was going to America this year, now we know what he meant, im glad everything went as planned.
