KR SMU stands for KR Sports Management Unit!

When I stepped up as chair, I had goals I wanted to achieve. I had huge ambitions. I wanted to raise the bar to the highest possible level. I wanted to do things differently. I wanted a van. I wanted sponsorships. I wanted the biggest- ever publicity. I wanted a closely bonded comm. To do all these, I needed 18 people with the talent and commitment to achieve all these.

However, many had their doubts. Some said I would find it difficult to get people I wanted because I was too ‘kao peh’. Some said what I set out to achieve was unattainable. But I guess when Jacinth, Jiawei and me started picking people from the interviews, we kind of silenced our critics. Ultimately, 18 of the best were chosen from the interviews. Each and every one of you had your own talent. In no particular order:

I have the 2 best designers – SAMUELA and JOANNE GAY. Nearly every part of the hall is plastered with designs by them.
I have kr’s photo comm vice chair LAURA who probably did the nicest photo collage ever together with Tammy, John Woo and Valmond.
I have BALDWIN who’s kr’s marketing exec and started off a totally new thing by searching for sponsorships. Eventually, we got NutritionPark so tt’s a good start.
I have BEN KWAN, WEI HENG, VALMOND and TAMMY who are always helpful enough to do duties even though it may not be theirs
I have DEX who did the scoreboard together with Xiang Fei, Veralyne and Meiyi and updated the scoreboard for the whole IHG period.
I have VERALYNE, JIAHUI, MEIYI, LIONEL, YANLING and XIANG FEI as block i/cs who gave me little problems in terms of collection and accounting of shirts and money.
I have JOHN WOO who will be this year’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ and our fav himbo and who also happens to be nx yr’s sports director.
I have JACINTH who takes charge of everything to do with equipment and stuff herself without needing any help and who’s always willing to take initiative to assist me and Jiawei.
And my vice chair JIAWEI, who's always covers for me, who does practically anything tt I asks for and takes initiative to do things that I don’t ask for in order to lighten my workload.
Thanks for all the meetings and scheduling throughout IHG.

This list is by no means exhaustive. Each of you have contributed to a successful IHG season for smu and I will never be able to finish typing each of your contributions. In short, I had the most dedicated, awesome comm.

Out of the 19 of us, I know of 6 who are already in OP comms. Gay and Sam in FWOC, Jiahui in Flag, Meiyi and Valmond in HPB and John Woo as Pharmacy Rag Chair. I’m sure besides these six, some of you have been approached. This actually reflects how well you all have done. Thus, for those who are doing, live up to the expectations by contributing to these comms how you all have contributed to smu. People see potential in you, so fulfill that potential! =)

Whenever smu is mentioned, I hear superlatives and for that, I would like to thank all of you for making it probably one of the best comms. Without the 18 of you all working towards common goals, this comm wouldn’t have been successful.

Last but not least, I would like to thank CANDY LEE for everything she has done, from liaising with hall admin to covering all our shit.

Thank you everyone once again for making my experience as a comm head such an AWESOME one. =)))
