Meiyi's Makan Minutes :))
MAKAN MINUTES!!
Haha, as most of my canteen mates will know, I am a foodie person!! haha i can eat SO much, its just a matter of time the food's finished.=D with such experience, i've decided to post a foodie tip for many more food junkies out there! Have fun savouring this! :)
#1: Beef Noodles at Great World City
no, its not about the noodles, but its the chilli im talking about!:) finely grinded chilli paste without a trace of the nasty chilli padi seeds and having a fragrant onion scent, yummy! not to forget, add in a small spoonful of the usually provided shrimp paste (white thick liquid). It is insoluble in the chilli paste and thus forms a very nice pattern on your chilli plate. Adding in on to the beef noodles, its so good, you wont miss this dish for the world!
#2: 'Rojak' at Marriot Hotel Cafe
unlike normal rojaks found almost anywhere in sunny Singapore, the Rojak served at Marriot Hotel Cafe is one of a kind, not to be missed! Nicely toasted till crisp tau poks and you tiaos, added onto the simmering scented brown sauce and expertly mixed together, this dish can serve as a main dish, and the portion is quite large it can be shared with a friend or two. The pineapple bits are sensitively cut and not too sweet nor too sour, and the radishes are thin slices, making it easier to be eaten. Did i mention too, the shaved peanuts are also toasted so that when added on top of the dish it emits a fragrance so heavenly?!
#3: Apple crumble at Serangoon Gardens Food Centre
yummy for dessert! it adds a light tinge to your tastebuds after a heavy savoury meal. unlike many apple crumbles, the crust of flakes and light and fine, and the apple bits in it are not sticky and starchy. Furthermore, its sold cheap as compared to cafes. Go try it!
ok, catch makan minutes on its next edition soon! taa... and bon appetit!=D
